heavy. uses denim fabrics from Kuroki and Kaihara.

Both are leading manufacturers in Japan's denim production regions.
The processes of dyeing yarn, weaving, and finishing involve techniques cultivated over a long period of time.

Denim fabric production broadly consists of the following processes:

• Spinning

• Rope dyeing

• Weaving

• Finishing

There are only a limited number of manufacturers in Japan that can handle these processes consistently, and Kaihara and Kuroki are special among them.

Kaihara handles everything from spinning to finishing, while Kuroki handles dyeing, weaving, and finishing in-house, making them rare denim manufacturers in Japan.

Kuroki, in particular, is a denim manufacturer based in Ibara City, Okayama Prefecture.
Their partnership with LVMH Métiers d’Art has also been announced, which shows that Japanese denim technology and craftsmanship are highly regarded worldwide.

Currently, heavy.'s Glow Denim and Boy Denim Light use Kuroki denim fabrics.

Glow Denim uses 9.5 oz stretch denim.
This fabric was chosen for its ability to naturally follow body movements, despite its slim silhouette.

Boy Denim Light uses 8 oz cotton denim.
This light and soft fabric pairs well with its relaxed, straight silhouette.
