OVERVIEW

Based on the Boy Denim Light pattern, this artisan piece is made by connecting denim remnants into 10cm square patchwork pieces.
The front, back, waistband, and pockets are all constructed from stitched patchwork fabric.

The fabric is the same 8oz cotton denim from Okayama, Japan, used for the regular Boy Denim Light.
Light, soft, and made to become more familiar with wear, the fabric has been rebuilt from remnants into a one-of-a-kind pair of pants.

STORY

Boy Denim Light ARTISAN PATCHWORK is made from denim remnants created during the production of Boy Denim Light.

Pieces of fabric that would normally be left over are cut into 10cm squares and stitched together one by one.
Including seam allowance, each piece measures 12cm square. The process begins by connecting these pieces to create a single sheet of patchwork fabric.

That fabric is then used to cut the Boy Denim Light pattern again and reconstruct it into a pair of pants.
Because the front, back, waistband, and pockets are all made from patchwork fabric, the production process is completely different from regular denim.

Regular fabric is used for structural areas such as the zipper section and pocket bags.
This helps balance the visual impact of the patchwork with the wearability and durability needed for everyday pants.

The denim used is 8oz denim from Okayama, Japan, by KUROKI.
It is a light and soft fabric made with reverse slub yarn in the weft. The natural unevenness created by its thin and thick sections gives the fabric character, which changes gradually with wear.

Even when made from remnants of the same fabric, the arrangement and seam placement differ from pair to pair.
This is a one-of-a-kind denim piece that makes full use of materials without waste, turning accidental combinations into part of its character.

FIT

The same relaxed straight fit as Boy Denim Light, with room around the hips and thighs.
The silhouette falls naturally from the waist to the hem with an easy, relaxed shape.

While the patchwork gives this piece a distinctive presence, the fit keeps the easy everyday balance of Boy Denim Light.

CARE

Hand washing is recommended.
If using a washing machine, turn inside out, place in a laundry net, and wash on a gentle cycle.

Do not tumble dry.
After washing, reshape and hang to dry in the shade.

Due to the nature of denim, color fading and color transfer may occur through washing and wear.
Please be careful of color transfer to light-colored clothing, furniture, and other items.

DESIGNER’S NOTE

Boy Denim Light ARTISAN PATCHWORK is a pair of pants rebuilt from remnants created during the production of Boy Denim Light.

To use materials without throwing them away.
To reconstruct remnants into new fabric.
And to make them wearable again as one pair of pants.

By connecting 10cm square pieces one by one, the process became almost like making the fabric first, before making the pants.

Although it uses the same pattern and denim fabric as the regular Boy Denim Light, the time required to make it and the final expression are completely different.
This artisan item gives new life to materials born from heavy.’s making process, rebuilding them into a single pair of pants.
