August 2025, Squamish, Canada
Toshiaki Takeuchi has successfully completed the V15 difficulty level climb "The Singularity."
This problem is located in the rock face of Squamish, Canada, and is an extremely difficult boulder that requires delicate holding and high physical control. Takeuchi approached it as his main target on this tour, and spent seven of the eight days since arriving there working solely on this problem.
He commented on Instagram:
"I was able to climb the challenge that was my lifelong dream.
This was my third and final attempt on the final day of the tour. I had been working on this problem for seven of the eight days since I arrived in Canada. Today's conditions were the worst so far, with a high temperature of 27 degrees and no wind. However, by accurately following what I had learned up to that point, I had a series of close attempts and it was difficult to give up.
All of the moves on the climbs were accurate, but the holds were poor, so I just pretended to hold on with my latissimus dorsi muscles.
I had given up on the idea. I thought about going home many times, but I didn't stop. Even if you give up, you shouldn't quit.
Thank you, Singularity. It's been an incredible adventure."
